Fragments IX. Some girls break before the gear does. Ranie Mae steps up first, tall, blonde, hungry to prove she can hang. The rope bites deep, arms pinned, ankles spread, no slack to be found. She pulls hard, chest rising fast, but the rig wins. She gasps, trembles, folds. Fail. Then comes Ana. Black hair, black skin, body carved for struggle. Every strap looks right at home on her, until the clamps bite down and the cane lands. She holds for one, maybe two strikes, then her mouth opens and the safe word slips out. Another broken piece on the pile.
