ROUND One: The Dragon's (2-0) vs Team Ice (1-1)

Twelve minutes of sweat and skin. Holly Heart and Dragon Lily came in undefeated. Holly, the fresh blonde rookie, stuck tight to Lily’s seven-season rhythm. Across from them: Ariel X, last year’s champ, dragging Mellanie Monroe into every point Team Ice earned. They had one loss on the books and the hunger to make it disappear. Round one opened with Dragon Lily on Ariel X. First time on the mat together. No feeling-out period. Ariel moved like the title still lived in her hips; Lily answered with the veteran calm that kept the Dragons on top all season. Takedowns, reversals, fingers digging for holds that counted. The crowd felt the math shift every time a knee spread, every time a point clicked onto the board. When the whistle cut the round, only twenty-four points hung between them. Team Ice walked off first, Mellanie already licking salt off her lip. The Dragons stayed on the floor another second, breathing hard, recalculating. Holly’s eyes followed Ariel’s exit; Lily’s stare never left the empty center circle. Four rounds total. One already gone. Next whistle waits for blood.
