Suspension Safety and Penetration, with Lew Rubens
2015·56 min
Lew Rubens has Isis Love, Samantha Sin and Michelle Brown under the ropes. He walks them through every step that keeps a suspension from turning into an ER visit—checking the overhead anchor, picking the right rope, measuring twice, then wrapping with clean, load-bearing lines. Isis stays still while he checks tension and circulation. Then he starts the lift. The frame creaks. Her weight settles. Lew talks them through the hold points and escape knots, voice low and steady. Once she’s hanging, body open, the lesson shifts. Isis gets the nod to push further. She climbs onto the suspended frame, slides in close, and works her way inside the bottom. Every thrust rocks the rig, every swing tests the knots. The other two watch, taking notes with their eyes while the bodies keep moving. Short breaths, tight rope, no slack left anywhere.
